AppReleaseKit is a tool for designing App Store and Play Store screenshots. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is short because the service does not collect much.
What we collect
- Your email address. We sign you in with a one-time code, so an email address is required.
- Your display name, if you choose to set one in Settings. It is optional.
- The designs you make. Screens, text, colors, images you place, and your brand kit are stored on our servers so you can come back to them from any device.
- Ordinary server logs. IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, kept briefly to keep the service running and to investigate abuse.
- Crash reports. When something goes wrong in the editor, your browser sends us the error message, the technical stack behind it, the page it happened on, and your browser version, so we can fix it. Nothing is sent when the app is working, and the reports are deleted after 30 days.
- Usage totals. While you are signed in, we keep a daily count of how many minutes you actively spent in the app, on which design, and how many exports you made. These are totals, not a record of what you clicked, and they stay in our own database. If you use AI translation drafts, we also count how much you used each day, to apply a daily limit.
- Website analytics. On our public pages (not inside the app, the editor or the sign-in page) we use Plausible to count page views and a few actions, such as choosing a template. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not collect personal data or follow you across other sites. It records the page, the referring site, and a rough country, browser and device type.
- Optional analytics (only if you accept). When you accept the banner, we also use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity across the site and the app. Google Analytics records the pages you visit and actions such as signing in, creating a design, choosing a template, or exporting, linked to your account id while you are signed in. Clarity records how you move, click and scroll, including session replays. Text you type into fields is masked and not recorded. If you decline, neither collects cookies or replays, and Google Analytics only receives anonymous, cookieless pings. You can change your choice any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer.
What we do not collect
There is no advertising and no cross-site tracking. Google Analytics and Clarity are used for measurement only, we do not enable advertising features or personalization, and they run only with your consent. We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone, and we do not use your designs to train machine learning models.
Who processes your data
We use Supabase for authentication, database storage, and hosting. Your account and your designs live there. Supabase acts as a processor on our behalf and is bound by its own agreement with us.
Third-party services you choose to use
- Stock photo search. If you search the photo library, your search term is sent to Unsplash or Pixabay so they can return results. We do not send them your email address or your designs.
- Brand import. If you ask us to pull colors and a logo from a website, our server fetches that address on your behalf. The site you name will see a request from us, not from you.
- AI translation drafts. If you click Draft with AI in the Translations table, the text of the cells being translated, the target language and your project name are sent to Google's Gemini API to produce the draft. We do not send your email address, images or the rest of your design. We use Google's paid service, under which Google does not use this text to train its models. Nothing is sent unless you click the button.
- Analytics. Plausible counts page views on our public pages, as described above. It receives the page address and the browser's standard request details, and keeps no personal profile of you.
- Optional analytics. With your consent, Google (Google Analytics) and Microsoft (Clarity) process usage data on our behalf, as described above. See the Google and Microsoft privacy statements.
- Fonts. Typefaces used in the editor are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request as part of serving the font file.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage only for things the app needs to work:
- Your sign-in session, so you stay logged in.
- Your light or dark theme preference.
- Whether the sidebar is collapsed.
None of these are used for advertising or shared with anyone. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics and Clarity also set their own cookies (such as _ga and _clck) and store your choice here under appreleasekit-consent.
Exports stay on your machine
When you export screenshots, the images are rendered in your own browser and saved directly to your device. The finished files are not uploaded to us.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account and designs for as long as your account exists. You can delete everything yourself from Settings. Deletion asks you to type your email address to confirm, then removes your designs, your profile and brand kit, and your login. It is immediate and cannot be undone. Backups are rotated out within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or erase the personal data we hold about you, and to object to how we handle it. Erasing everything is available directly in Settings, and you can change your display name there at any time. For a copy of your data or any other request, write to us and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
The service is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and tell account holders by email before the change takes effect.
