What's new in AppReleaseKit

Every release, newest first. What we are building next is on the roadmap.

  1. See your listing before you publish

    v1.7.0
    • addedPreview your store listing. See your screens on a mock of the App Store and Google Play web pages, in light or dark, in any of your languages, before you upload anything.
    • addedSet your app name, subtitle, developer name and icon for the preview, so it reads like your real listing. None of it changes your design.
    • addedOne Warnings button in the top right, with a count. Every check lives behind it, so you see what needs attention in one place.
    • addedA screenshots check. It flags a device still on placeholder art and any language whose own screenshot was replaced when the base one changed.
    • improvedText issues moved into Warnings next to Screenshots. Click any problem to jump to it, or accept it when it is fine as it is.
  2. Catch text problems before you export

    v1.6.0
    • addedA text check that runs as you edit. It flags text that overflows its box, runs into other text or runs off the screen, and shows when a translation breaks a layout that works in your original. Switch it off from the toolbar if you would rather not see it.
    • addedThe Text issues panel. Every problem in one place, grouped by language, with one-click fixes: widen the box, make the text smaller or align it with the screen. Fix what can be fixed does them all at once.
    • addedCompare languages. See one screen in every language side by side, or step through them one at a time.
    • addedAdd sizes for the whole set. Copy every screen into more store sizes in one click, with the text re-flowed for the new shape.
    • addedA keyboard shortcuts cheat sheet. Press ? anywhere in the editor, or find it in the toolbar and the command palette, and search every shortcut.
    • addedWear OS watch frames. The Pixel Watch 4 in Obsidian and Moonstone, with a round screen, crown, side button and strap in your choice of colour.
    • improvedText keeps its spacing when you copy a screen to a different shape, and exports match the editor when a long word is wider than its text box.
  3. Publish straight to Google Play

    v1.5.0
    • addedPublish to Google Play from the Export panel. Sign in with Google and upload your screenshots to Play Console without zipping and dragging files in.
    • addedChoose what to send: phone, 7" and 10" tablet, feature graphic and app icon, in any of your languages.
    • addedLive progress for every screen and language while it uploads.
    • improvedA new Export panel with Zip, fastlane and Google Play side by side.
  4. Translate a whole set in minutes

    v1.4.0
    • addedThe translations table. Every text layer in one sheet, a column per language, and any cell editable in place. Add a language, search the text and filter to what is still missing without leaving it.
    • addedDraft with AI. One click drafts every empty translation and keeps each caption close to the length of the original, so it still fits.
    • addedReview before anything is saved. AI drafts and imports show every change as before and after, and nothing is applied until you confirm.
    • addedExport and import CSV. Hand the sheet to a translator or open it in Excel or Sheets, then bring it back. Japanese and Arabic open correctly.
    • addedKeep a text the same on purpose. A brand name or "OK" that should not change counts as translated and is never redrafted.
    • improvedA clearer languages menu. Tick the languages to export, say which language your original text is in, and jump to any language with View.
  5. Devices that fit your screenshots

    v1.3.0
    • addedAdapt, the new default fit. The device reshapes itself to your screenshot, so nothing is cropped, stretched or letterboxed.
    • addedNew devices: iPhone 17 Pro Max, Pixel 10 Pro, iPad Pro 13", iPad Air 11", Galaxy Tab S10+ and Apple Watch Ultra 3, each with its own placeholder screen.
    • addedMake a device your own: custom colour, matte or glossy finish, watch band and button colours, and adjustable device and screen corners.
    • addedShadows, lighting and one-click looks. Add a soft shadow, aim or switch off the light, or pick Hero tilt, Flat front, Floating or Moody.
    • addedResize or hide the camera island.
    • addedMagnifier lenses. Zoom in on any part of a screen with a movable focus point, in six styles from a classic ring to a rounded square.
    • addedPointers. Draw a curved arrow from any text or element to the spot it describes.
    • improvedSharper device models: smooth rounded edges, a correctly sized Dynamic Island and cleaner corners on the Galaxy phones.
    • improvedThe device picker shows a real preview of every model.
  6. Every language, tuned on its own

    v1.2.0
    • addedA tab per language in the properties panel. Change the font, size, colour, position, line breaks or anything else for one language, and only that language changes.
    • addedLocalised app screenshots. Swap an image, a device screen or a sticker on one language and the rest keep theirs.
    • addedShow all languages on one canvas. Every language gets its own live row under the base, ready to edit in place, in the horizontal or vertical view.
    • addedA screen's background can differ per language. Its name, size and layers stay shared, so every language is still the same set.
    • addedRight-to-left text for Arabic and Hebrew, and fonts for Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai and Hindi.
    • improvedThe base leads. Change something on the base and every language gets it, while each language keeps the rest of its own changes.
    • improvedSee exactly what a language changed, and hand one property or all of them back to the base in a click.
    • improvedExports use each language's own version: its text, sizes, images and background.
    • improvedRemove any language without touching the others. Add it back and its changes are still there.
    • improvedThe link remembers your view. Reload and you are back on the same language, with every language shown or hidden as you left it.
    • improvedBring to front, bring forward, send backward and send to back, straight from the right-click menu on the canvas and in the layer list.
    • fixedRight-click menus always fit on screen, and open beside the selection instead of on top of it.
  7. Exports, ready to upload

    v1.1.0
    • addedExport for fastlane. One zip laid out the way deliver and supply read it: App Store screenshots per locale, Play screenshots per device, and the feature graphic as its own file.
    • addedThe fastlane zip comes with a README and a Fastfile, so uploading is one command from inside the folder.
    • addedGive a screen its own store size. Duplicate a screen for another size, or set one size for every screen at once.
    • improvedOne export dialog for zips and fastlane. Pick exactly which sizes and languages go in, and only sizes your design has a screen at are offered.
    • improvedFiles are numbered in screen order, so the stores show them in the order you designed them.
  8. AppReleaseKit is here

    v1.0.0
    • addedAn infinite canvas built for store screenshots. Lay out every screen of your listing at once and see the whole story side by side.
    • addedEvery store size, right by construction. iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, the Play feature graphic, Mac and Windows.
    • addedReal 3D devices you can orbit to any angle, with your own screenshots on them.
    • addedTemplates that are complete multi-screen stories, not blank pages.
    • addedA deep library of shapes, effects, patterns, icons and stickers, with live sliders so no two pieces look alike.
    • addedDesign tools that go further: 3D tilt, drop shadows, curved and gradient text, and backgrounds that span several screens at once.
    • addedTranslate a set into 27 languages and export a folder per locale, ready to upload.
    • addedYour brand, imported from your own website. Colours, fonts and logo, applied across a design in one go.
    • addedExport one screen or the whole set at every size, zipped and named so there is nothing to rename afterwards.
